About this audiobook
“It makes more sense to look at the brain as a filter, a sort of reducing valve that 'dumbs down' consciousness, which is preexisting and exists outside our physical universe. In fact, consciousness gets dumbed down to almost a trickle, which is necessary in the here and now in our lives surviving, in the Darwinian sense, on this planet." Eben Alexander MD from Science of Mind interview
There are different levels of consciousness -- the consciousness of a tree, the awareness of an animal like a dog, cat or dolphin, the consciousness of human beings. And yet it's all evolving and in a not-too-distant future human beings will take a new leap in consciousness.
Babble is the story of Bobbie Cagle -- a 12-year-old misdiagnosed autistic boy who is the first human to leap into a brave new world of consciousness -- an evolutionary leap as great as the first fish that crawled from the sea onto land.
But unfortunately, everyone wants Bobbie for their own purposes. His dad, Brian, and Brian's uncle, Pastor John, think, with his special gift of speaking in tongue, Bobbie is meant to help them build up their Charismatic Christian Community in prep for the second coming.
Researcher Dr. Albert Carter thinks Bobbie may hold the key to a breakthrough in a very lucrative treatment for autism.
And Matt Arnez of Homeland Security feels certain that Bobbie may be the greatest threat to national security masquerading as an innocent child.
Lucky thing for Bobbie, he’s not alone. His mother, Angela Cagle, will do whatever necessary to keep her son safe so he can fulfill his divine destiny. But will she be enough?

W. Bradford Swift
W. Bradford Swift writes visionary fiction of the fantasy and science fiction variety for children and young adults to inspire them to become joyful lifelong readers by introducing them to the pure pleasure of reading. Swift believes reading for pleasure stretches the imagination of young readers in ways that TV, movies, or video games do not. He also loves to encourage young people to write their own stories, knowing that some of them will grow into the world’s future authors as he did. As a former small animal veterinarian, animals often play an important role in his stories.
