Could denying her feelings be fatal?

Against the odds, Lennina managed to save Daniel from a tunnel collapse on Kronos. But recovering from their injuries is just the start of their problems. In revealing her ability to communicate telepathically with Daniel, Lennina has drawn the attention of The Company. They want to know all about this Talent, and to use it for their own ends.

Trapped within Katoa Labs for an Assessment and Training program, Lennina must endure the ‘lessons’ of her sadistic new mentor, Xander, while trying to avoid her abusive ex. And all the while, she’s being kept apart from the one person she really wants to see – Daniel.

But even thinking about Daniel is fraught with difficulty. Coming so close to losing him in the mines has left Lennina terrified to open her heart to him. She needs him if she’s ever going to escape the clutches of the company, but is it possible to escape with her body and her heart in one piece?

Power of Lightning (Lightning Touch Book 2) by Susan McKenzie is a wonderful story to read. This is book number two and a brand new author for me and I loved reading this story and can not wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend this story to all.

I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received an ARC for my honest review. Power of Lightning picks up where Touch of Lightning (book 1) leaves off. The characters are very likable, but the girl can definitely cry a lot. Both of the main characters are thrown into situations that neither are prepared for, nor do either of them seem capable of understanding behavior or actions of others that are completely self-serving. Lennina saves Daniel at the end of book one and they are taken to an infirmary. While Daniel's injuries are healing, they are both found to have a talent, so they must get training for their own protection and for the protection of others. This training is very difficult and the trainers appear to have ulterior motives. I took off 1 star because Lennina and Daniel continued to be naive and trusting against all reasons not to be. After being shown time and time again that their 'trainers' weren't trustworthy, they still believed that the trainers were only trying to ensure that both Lennina and Daniel were trained properly and had their best interests in mind. However, this was a relatively minor complaint and I will definitely read more of Ms. McKenzie's books!

How I wish there were more than two books for this series! I loved the story and what they both overcame to be together. This book was powerful in many aspects and has so many questions left for me in what happens next in their journey along with the other characters that experienced a certain phenomenon. As an Arc reader, I am glad to review this book after receiving a free copy. I do hope in the future the author does reconsider adding more to the series than these two books.

This second book was even better than the first. It has a little more action. A little romance and some intrigue. You've got the good, the bad and the Alien. It is well written and reads fast. No graphic sexual content but does have some violence. I really enjoyed it and recommend it.

This was an interesting science fiction/paranormal story with a touch of romance. I would have liked to see stronger main characters. The hero and heroine seemed to be a bit naive and trusting. After all that happened I would expect them to be a little more suspicious, but I guess I would chalk that obedience in part to their youth. The author certainly did write a good villain. I would be open to reading more of her work.

I was given a copy of this book through Hidden Gems Books and have voluntarily decided to read and review it.

This book is the second in a duology so it ends the story first begun in Lightening Touch. This book is well worth reading if you read the first book in the set.
