couldn't finish the book. Mari annoyed me with her thoughts and constant repeat. She left San Francisco 2 years ago, or was rather exiled from her parents for bad publicity and making their name look bad. she doesn't go into detail about what she did exactly but she constantly brings it up. you get more from her pov than oliver.

This is book one in The Pelican Bay Billionaires Series and it is Mari's story. After Mari was betrayed by her boyfriend she exposed him causing a scandal that she was not prepared for so she decided to leave and travelled to Guatemala to help the people that were less fortunate but when she needed money for a water project she decided to go to ask only for him to ask her to be his take fiance for six months and he will give her the money that she needed and that is when the story for really interesting. There are twists and turns along the way that you don't see coming and I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive. I absolutely loved this story and it is a great start to a new series and I look forward to reading the next book. Megan Matthews is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed. The author has taken us back to Pelican Bay to spend some time with our friends, and meet some new ones. Pierce Kensington is not well liked in town and convinces Mari to pretend to be his fiancee for six months and help him with the townspeople. However, his cousin, Oliver, begins to throw a wrench into those plans. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
