Holy Smokes! What a roller coaster ride! Ella and Deacon lit up the pages! Their story was a nail-biter from beginning to end, and I loved every bit of it! Started off a little slow and weird in the very beginning but in the 3rd chapter, it picked up and I was very interested in the story. By page 140, I was addicted and could not put this book down! Ella, 23, is a normal girl with hipster and gypsy parents. And a 5-year-old baby brother, Beau. She had a heart of gold and a fantasy of being a little wild. She lived at home, in the attic with her own outside door and worked to help her parents pay for rent and food.

She met Deacon, member of a new MC that just started up in town, several times before they started getting to know each other. He was an intense, alpha male, gorgeous, oldest of 3 boys, all in the MC and their dad, Deke was the President of the new local club. They owned a motorcycle dealership, night club/beer joint, and a motorcycle repair/rebuild shop.

There was quite a bit of action since of course they were at war with another MC nearby. Kidnappings, murder, rape, etc but not in detail. It was a good book and worth the read.

The epilogue did give away all the other couples and their outcomes which, for me, makes me wonder why I should read the next books since I already know what happens. But, since those characters were so prominent in this book, I will read the next one for Rider & Jenna full story.

I like this book. What would have made me love it though, is if we actually got Deacon's POV as well. Especially when he's off handling things in "His World" that are a direct threat to he and Ella's love, peace, and safety. These are the times when I would prefer not to be in her head and only hear about what has occurred afterward....

Also the explosive hotness seemed to fizzle out in the middle and towards the end with them. It all turned into barely there stilted encounters, so I wasn't feeling the way this wound up flowing either.

This is a decent opening to a series, but it didn't grab me enough to make me want to return to it, for the other character stories.

OMG! I still can’t believe that I found this book by 'accident'.
Someone mentioned, on facebook, that she was reading an MC book so I decided to read the blurb of the mentioned book. The blurb immediately appealed to me so then I decided to buy the book and read it. I’m so happy that I made that decision because after reading and loving the MC series from Kristen Ashley so much, I was looking for something alike but I discovered very soon that this was very hard to find. Or maybe I was just too demanding? (I wanted a MC series with an alpha man who also had a sweet side, a goofy woman but someone who would also stand up for what she believed in, the side characters (friends and family) were also important and I wanted no cheating and my happy ending). So you can imagine my surprise and happiness when I discovered that this book had it all and even more!

Ella never expected to find her ‘prince charming’ in a gas station/convenience store line-up but the moment that she sees the beautiful biker standing just before her, she can’t take her eyes of him. And she isn’t the only one! The beautiful biker seems to take an interest in her too! And then later, he saves her in that same convenience store, when it gets mugged. Ella falls really hard for him. But things won’t be easy for them because Deacon Valentine and his MC family has just moved in town and an existed but rival MC isn’t really happy about this. Very soon it becomes obvious that a war is coming between the both MC’s and it will get very dangerous for everyone involved. And then you have Deacon’s past with women and his terrible mother, his handsome brothers, Ella’s girlfriends and Ella’s ex-boyfriend who is now stalking her. This really is a story filled with passion, drama, suspense and fun (yes, believe it or not but you also have funny situations in this story).
The story is told from Ella’s POV.

SO, If you love Kristen Ashley her books and you don’t mind that the story is a little bit darker then you REALLY, REALLY have to try this book! I’m soooooooooo looking forward to reading the next book in this series, that will be about Deacon’s brother Rider and Ella’s best friend Jenna.

SUPER LONG inner monologues at the very beginning. Gets cute and funny with Drunk Ella. Ella’s fears of Deacon’s past with his girlfriends is genuine, realistic, smart and justified. Deacon can be scarily INTENSE. I totally understand Ella’s reticence on not going further in their relationship. It’s interesting to see what Deacon’s side of the story is and how easily perceptions can change. Just goes to show you that you can never judge a book by its cover. The biker world is a whole new terrifying world for Ella. I LOVE Ella’s cute nicknames. Their relationship moved at super sonic warp speed!! Given everything scary that actually happens during the biker feud, it is TOTALLY understandable why anyone would be hesitant to get involved with a biker.

Aside: 1) Cool names: Elizabelle Isabeth, Deke, Deacon, Spencer, Rider, Chakotay, Jett, Jenna, Pippa, Gianna, 2) Ella’s family is not doing well financially, often scrounging around in sofa cushions for coins to make rent. So HOW can they afford to have so many of Ella’s dad’s pals over eating dinner and drinking? Food and alcohol are expensive. 3) kinda hilarious that the Jackals are concerned with littering when they’re into the slave trade and gang rape. 4) The Jackals left her untied and alone with her phone for half an hour when they kidnapped her? Then they put her in the car untied with a hood on?

I’m kinda shocked. I’ve started 2 other books of DD Prince and did not want to finish them but this one is a winner. I’m glad I gave this author another chance.
