Basic Witch (The Nomad Witch Book 6) Kindle Edition
The Veil didn’t like that. Not one murderous bit. And if Scarlett shows up in their sights again, they won’t hold back.
And, of course, Scarlett being who she is, she’s looking for an opportunity to do just that.
The Veil’s mind control collars are a looming threat, and Scarlett and her allies are doing their best to get the dirt on them.
Step one is breaking into the mansion of the one Bald Baddie they’ve identified. What’s a little breaking and entering for a good cause, right?
One clue will lead to the next, and each of them will lead Scarlett and her allies into greater danger.
Behind the scenes, Camus pushes forward day by day on his plan to use the collars to give the Veil unprecedented power in the country, and eventually, the world.
Only one troublesome witch and ferocious feline stand in their way. Fortunately, they have the Witches, the Riders, and the Federal Agents of Magic at their backs.
But will it be enough to prevent more kidnappings? More collarings? And the achievement of the Veil’s goals?
Only one way to find out.
For action, magic, snarky banter, martial arts, mystical creatures, and a dash of mystery, join Scarlett and Runeclaw on their next adventure.

About the authors
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore in the U.S. but have had a weird wanderlust to live in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Thank you for checking out my stories! There's more at www.marthacarr.com.
Join us on Facebook to hear about new books, giveaways, an idea rolling around about a universe-wide scavenger hunt at the end of the year and more. If you like the series please leave a review and send me a note. More adventures to follow - and thanks for sticking with me.
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!
I’m TR Cameron, Urban Fantasy and Science Fiction author. I’ve been an avid consumer of the genres since I was six, I think, when I broke the seal on my Dad’s copies of the Asimov Foundation books. Shortly after, it was Dragonlance and Drizzt. It’s been all downhill since then.
I have a day job that I love most days, and writing is pretty much my only consistent hobby. When I find time that’s not already filled with my wife, my daughter, my writing, my work, or dodging the affections of our clowder of cats, you can find me playing video games (currently Cyberpunk 2077, Avengers, and Witcher 3), watching things (Marvel movies, The Expanse, Picard), playing board games, or, naturally, reading.
My favorite authors in Sci-Fi are David Weber, Jean Johnson, John Scalzi, CJ Cherryh, and the giants: Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Heinlein, etc. I read a lot in other genres too, and am a big fan of Matthew Woodring Stover, Michael Anderle, Jim Butcher, and I could go on and on and on. If I had to choose one favorite, though, it would be Stephen R. Donaldson, whose Thomas Covenant series was transformative for me.
Probably my pie-in-the-sky dream for my writing career is that someone would make a movie or television show of my books and I could be a part of the production. Sure, unlikely, but a clowder-dodger can dream, right? My more practical dream is that I can keep writing and both entertaining and connecting with my readers for years and years to come.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2024The story continues with a reach out to the other partner series with ? and Rath the troll. A good melding of magic, mayhem, an evil plan, characters you like or hate, and a story which needs the next book to either continue the battle(s) until the war is ultimately won. I like the character development, and yes at times it feels rote and trite, but I don't read these as great literature. They are not. They are well written, have minimal to no editing errors, and if you get into the story, will probably keep your interest through to the end.
I think the series will keep your interest.

Very entertaining reading, as always! Can't wait to read the next book and see where it goes! I especially enjoy all the characters and their interactions. It makes for very entertaining reading!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025TR. This goes out to you, buddy (as if this will actually get read by you or my opinion matters, lol):
First of all, You hit the nail on the head with your author’s notes again, so I would like to take a second to offer you a few insights if I could?
For starters, I applaud you and everything that you do; your
main job teaching is so extremely important; to broaden the minds of other people and impart knowledge that they didn’t have before is a HUGE privilege and much respect.
Then there is the parenting role; I wish that I had parents as seemingly cool as you, who puts their desires and needs forefront and is showing them that there is life beyond the internet/social media et al, great job and also much respect!
Your writing continues to improve but after I read each book I pay attention to the authors notes and notice the parts I like the best are the parts you tend to focus on in your authors notes. I only point this out because it seems the parts that you have the most fun with are, IMHO, the best parts of the book! It seems that you are already bored with some of the storylines or characters from this book if you are already looking to the future and formulating your next series.
From a Buddhist point of view it addresses SEVERAL issues I think:
1) Your writing might be even better if you LOVED what you were writing and focused on making every page as enjoyable as YOU would like, rather than possibly trying to appeal to what you perceive as your audience; some of your best efforts come when you are “IN the moment” rather than focused on the future. A perfect example of this is the last few paragraphs with Fang - I LOVED THAT PART!
2) I think this also addresses your difficulty dealing with the word/concept of SHOULD. From a Buddhist perspective, there is no SHOULD, only what IS. That is because your strife is from dealing with the EXPECTATION of what SHOULD BE, rather than what IS. People try to be in routines and perform in certain patterns which creates the expectation of SHOULD; predictable behavior. But that is boring and not real life, because people can be totally random and spontaneous and sometimes those moments when they break out of their patterns, they start living their best life.
To make your characters more interesting and real, maybe just let them BE instead of making them behave as they SHOULD?
Just an idea from an old man, who is a fan. Keep up the great work; in life, with your kid and your extracurriculars.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2024Scarlett, Runeclaw, and the Witches on Wheels, with the help of the Spell Riders, are trying to find the Luminous Veil and figure out what their plans are for the coeds with the mind controlling collars. Once again another action filled book in the series, with plenty of humor and fun characters to keep you reading the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2025Should be 5 Stars!
Hard to put down. So much imagery and action. The Veil is still ahead. Hopefully they will be taken down
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2024I really enjoy this series. The interaction between the motorcycle groups, and how they help each other. The character development with all of the characters in the style with how it is written is very very nice. I look forward to the next one. It is always nice to see evil taken to task.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2024Lots of plot twists, but light hearted enough to make things easy going. You will enjoy this book. Especially the cat.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2024You win some, you lose some. Seems Value has more people to do the bad stuff with whereas the good guys keep trying but without enough info. This is a really good series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining read.
Once again, these talented authors have delivered another enjoyable and exciting book.
Scarlette, Runeclaw, and co have been testing their considerable skills against the Bald Baddies, and mostly coming out on top.
However, after saving a number of students from abduction, they later find that another group of students were taken from elsewhere.
I cannot wait to begin reading book seven.
