- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2025I really enjoyed this book and loved that it had a very strong plot and much accessible backstory even though I had not read the previous books. It very much had a spicy vibe to an old favorite high fantasy style like Conan, I would consider this a slow burn romance but once they get there medium spicy! I would definitely recommend if your looking for something that's darker and not a super sweet cinnamon roll type read. I am going to add the first books in this series to my TBR!

Tessa is on extra-strength painkillers for her skin, so she feels like she is in a haze. There is a group of witches and mages in a circle around the Orc. They are going to push him into the portal and send him back to his land. Tessa jumps on his back, and they both go through the portal to the other land. The Orc is a king in his land and his name is Gevrank. He is missing his right hand, taken by another king. There are a lot of different twists in this story that make it interesting. I did enjoy reading this book and would like to read more books about Orc. I received an advanced review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my honest opinion.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2025This is my first book by this author and my first book about orcs. I loved it, and my only complaint is that I wish it was longer! I'm definitely going to check out this author's other books!
Tessa was a meek witch who was really lost in her life. When her attempt to take out the orc who was responsible for her fiancé 's death goes sideways, she finds herself in a new world with the orc she hates, but finally feels whole.
I enjoyed the ever changing relationship between Tessa and Gevrank, as well seeing the growth in each of their characters. I liked that Tessa really grew into herself and became a strong female who could take care of herself. And I always love a touch her and die, strong male with a super soft spot for his partner.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2025This was a quick read, I do love a good orc/human mate storyline. Some details in the story get a little hard to follow but honestly I enjoyed the vibes and enjoyed the story.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2025I really liked the final book in this series, I was happy to see that Tessa was finally given her opportunity to be more than an outcast and well I do like a grumpy MMC and Evan/Gevrank and was happy that he too was able to redeem himself as king and provide a happy ending for himself and Tessa. It was a sweet book with challenges that each character was able to over come. The book has a great amount of steam, is a quick read, fast paced (but if you read the others this fits right in) and offers POV from Gevrank and Tessa.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2025Short and sweet romantasy between an Orc and a Witch with some adventure and magic tossed in. I enjoyed reading about this world and the relationship between Gevrank and Tessa. There was a lot of character growth and some nice tension (some moderate spice) between the two as they travelled the forest of Gevrank's home world. The world building was a little clunky, there was a lot of telling rather than showing and some info dumps that disrupted the flow of the storyline at times. But in the end I had a great time and would like to read other books by this author!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2025Book Review: Claimed by the Orc by L.A. Montoir
I struggled immensely with Claimed by the Orc and had to force myself to finish it. At only 179 pages, it took me weeks to get through—a clear sign that the reading experience was not enjoyable. If I weren’t an ARC reader, I wouldn’t have finished it at all.
The book’s biggest downfall is its inconsistency. The plot jumps all over the place without clear direction, making it difficult to follow or invest in the story. It starts with the female main character attempting to kill the male lead, only for them to fall through a portal, hike for a day, and then—bizarrely—end up in the same bed, where she sexually assaults him. This moment was deeply confusing and uncomfortable. From there, the story takes increasingly erratic turns: she suddenly transforms into an orc, they go into “heat,” have sex once, and then somehow manage to save all the orcs. The protagonist is kidnapped, undergoes an unexplained personality overhaul, and becomes some kind of mystical being. None of these developments felt earned or coherent.
Beyond the chaotic plot, the characters were unlikable and lacked depth. Their actions often felt forced or nonsensical, and there was no real emotional connection to their struggles. The writing itself was weak, with inconsistencies in tone and structure that made the book even harder to engage with.
Overall, Claimed by the Orc was a frustrating read. The disjointed storytelling, poorly developed characters, and problematic elements made it difficult to enjoy. I cannot recommend this book, even to fans of orc romance or fantasy romance in general.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2025I loved the conclusion of the series. This is Evan's (Gevrank) story . It is a standalone with the perfect HEA for them. I loved how everything seemed to seamlessly fuse together. Action and suspense from the first page. I loved that Tessa tried to kill him in the beginning of the book.
Loved the twists , especially towards the end of the story. I loved how Gevrank slowly realized what and who Tessa is to him.
POV of the MCs progressing the story. Loved the unexpected help from a few places.
Loved Tessa's special gifts.
Once I started reading this wonderful story of found love I couldn't put it down.
Well done.
