BOB's Bar (Tales From The Multiverse Book 1) Kindle Edition
What happens when your favorite characters meet in a bar?
BOB isn't just a bartender and Bethany Anne isn't just a patron. Neither are Tanis, Amanda, Ryck, Cal, Marc, or Terry Henry.
What stories do our heroes from seven different successful series talk about when they come together in one place, at one time.
From the minds of Michael Anderle, Jonathan P. Brazee, M.D. Cooper, Craig Martelle, Barry J. Hutchison, Andrew Dobell, and Richard Fox.
Listen in as both the drinks and bar stories flow with reckless abandon.

About the authors
Barry Hutchison is an award-winning children's author and screenwriter. His first book - INVISIBLE FIENDS: MR MUMBLES - was published in 2010 to critical acclaim. The book went on to win the Royal Mail Award for Scottish Children's Books in 2011, by which point two more books in the horror series had been published.
In 2012 HarperCollins Children's Books published Barry's comedy fantasy novel, THE 13TH HORSEMAN, which was even more well-received than MR MUMBLES, with fans including the multi-award-winning best-selling author, Neil Gaiman. Shortly after Horseman won the Scottish Children's Book Award, a sequel - The Book of Doom - was published.
Since 2008 Barry has written over fifty books for children, including several based on the hit Cartoon Network show, BEN 10. When not writing he is usually visiting schools and libraries to run events and story-writing workshops for kids and adults alike.
He recently wrote thirty-six episodes of the CITV comedy series, BOTTOM KNOCKER STREET, starring comedian Phill Jupitus.
Barry lives in the Highlands of Scotland with his wife, Fiona, and their two children, Kyle and Mia. His biggest fear is that someone will one day discover how much fun his job is and immediately put a stop to it. His second biggest fear is squirrels.
I am a retired Marine infantry colonel and now a full-time writer living in Colorado Springs with my wife Kiwi and twin five-year-old girls, Danika Dawn and Darika Marie. I am a two-time Nebula Award Finalist, a two-time Dragon Award Finalist, and a USA Today Bestselling writer.
I published my first work back in 1978, a so-so short story titled "Secession." Since then, I have been published in newspapers, magazines, and in book format in fiction, political science, business, military, sports, race relations, and personal relations fields. I returned to writing fiction in 2009, and I currently have over 100 titles published, 80 being novels. My novelette, "Weaponized Math," was a finalist for the 2017 Nebula Award, "Fire Ant" was a finalist for the 2018 Nebula Award for Best Novella, "Integration" was a finalist for the 2018 Dragon Award for Best Military Science Fiction or Fantasy Novel, and "Sentenced to War" was a finalist for the 2021 Dragon Award in the same category.
My undergraduate degree was earned at the U. S. Naval Academy (Class of 1979), and I have attended graduate school at U. S. International University and the University of California, San Diego, earning a masters and doctorate. I am a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the US. Naval Academy Alumni Association, and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America where I'm serving as the Nebula Award Commissioner.
I have rather eclectic tastes. I have won awards in photography, cooking, writing, and several sports, earning national championships in rugby and equestrian events. When I'm not writing, I'm reading, cooking, going to the gym, taking my girls fishing, or traveling. I attend quite a few cons over the course of a year, and love meeting other people who love books.
I write because I love it. I only hope that others might read my work and get a bit of enjoyment or useful information out of my efforts.

For years, Andrew spent day after day hidden in his man cave, scribbling stories and sketching the visions he saw in his mind’s eye.
These mysterious beings, these characters and monsters, they desired freedom. They wanted the world to know of them and to follow their adventures.
Because knowledge is power. Power to bring them into reality.
For years, Andrew struggled against the powers that be, desperate for these mystical tales to be unleashed into the world. But the publishing overlords refused.
Then, one day, Andrew said, “No More!”
He would find his own way of bringing them into the world.
Writing and creating furiously in the depths of his man cave at the behest of his fictional masters, the first of the Magi Saga books was born.
From that day forward, there was no going back.
His creation was released, and the world would never be the same again.

Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!
Craig is a million-selling author of science fiction (post-apocalyptic, military sci-fi, and space opera), thrillers, and non-fiction.
Craig retired from the Marine Corps after a long career in the military intelligence community, having worked with most of the U.S. Government's three-letter agencies. After a short stint with physical security, Craig went to law school, graduated summa cum laude, and went into business consulting. From intelligence, to the inner workings of company board rooms, to on-the-ground leadership, Craig has seen it firsthand.
His books are an extension of his experience, putting the trials and tribulations of a fast-paced world into your hands. Whether in Science Fiction, Thrillers, Fantasy, or even his Non-Fiction, you'll find consistent themes of justice and doing right by those who are counting on their leaders. Leadership is a service, not a crown to lord over others.
No matter where Craig went, he always had a book with him. Thanks to 21st Century technology, He now has thousands of books at his fingertips and with him wherever he goes. How many books would he have read on deployments had he not had to carry a physical book?
No one is encumbered like that now. Craig loves the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, Andre Norton, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. He has been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, Craig aspires to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared him to.
Through a bizarre series of events, Craig ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. He never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. He and his wife get to watch the northern lights from their driveway. Their dog has lots of room to run, just until temperatures reach fifty below zero. They have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.
It’s all part of the give and take of life. If they didn’t have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2019I came to the world of BOB's Bar (Tales From The Multiverse) backwards, glomming onto its book 2 solely because one of my all-time favorite authors, Lindsay Buroker, had contributed a story. That tale, Ladies’ Night, Stars was as superb as I expected. It stars General Ridgewalker Zirkander (Ridge), a favorite character from the author’s Dragon Blood Series (first book of which, Balanced on the Blades’ Edge, is free on kindle by the way) and includes probably the coolest weapon in sci-fi and fantasy (and steampunk), the “sublime” sentient soulblade Jaxi (who has the neat trick of being able to telepathically chat with Ridge and his wife Sardelle (Jami’s regular sword bearer), another character fave, though absent from this tale. But enough drooling over that wonderful tale and let me turn back to BOB, short for Binary Operated Being and his inter-dimensionally floating bar busy gathering tales for the mysterious Collector. This is probably the best excuse for collecting wonderful short stories since Spider Robinson’s Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon and the bar motif works perfectly for that context. Even better in that this bar operates as a great excuse for bringing in characters from across sci-fi-dom. A neat way to introduce a reader to some she (or he) might not have come across from otherwise. Book 2 was so good that I immediately purchased Book 1 (yes, I know I did this backwards). Equally well done and equally fun. My only problem is that now there are a bunch of “new” (well, new to me at least) authors I need to try out. Bottom line here is that, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. Both of these anthologies definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that each anthology is most definitely “one to read”, and each is easy to highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2023Another will written paranormal fantasy world 🌎 a number of short stories by various authors (The Multiverse book one). As with all box 📦 sets some of the stories told by a group standing a table in a futuristic bad run by Bob are very good and others not so much. This is all personal preference so give it a try. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or listening 🎶 to Alexa read books 📚. 2023 👒😊😡
- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2019This book's premise is to take seemingly random Grade A S/F characters out of their normal universes or environments, put them together in a friendly bar run by a robot (who reports to a higher / strange intelligence) for the sole purpose of seeing who can tell the bigger whopper based in their own personal universes' experience. I learned many new characters, series, and authors, and I've investigated all the ones from this fun little S/F book. It reads like an anthology in some ways, and like a serial adventure in others. I've really enjoyed chasing down the books/series of these authors and getting to know their worlds and crews and reading their adventures and feelings. This was a sweet experience and I'm glad I read this one!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2023The authors have given us a unique look at the main characters in their books. It all happens in a Multidimensional bar. Take a set, get comfy, and enjoy the tales these characters tell. A great intro into the books these men write, by the way where are the women sci-fi writers.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2018I suppose it was inevitable that a group of Sci-fi authors would get together and bring their favourite characters together in a bar to swap war stories. It's not an original idea (think Thieves World) but it can be a very effective one.
BOB is a construct made by the Collector, he runs a bar in a separate dimension where a group of human adventurers are brought together to tell stories in a relaxed environment. It's an interesting group that includes T. H. Walton, Bethany Ann, Marc Ibarra, Tanis Richards, Amanda and a couple more. I was familiar with THW and Bethany Anne only. Each character tells a story from their universe. Not all the stories are of equal stature and not all of the characters are of equal interest. As a way of experiencing new characters and authors this is very good. It will certainly encourage me to investigate new authors.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2019Decent collection of short stories. Could the characters could develop out some more, but still fun. Would check out later works.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2024You guys did a good job telling these stories. Kind of hard to do when some of us are new to the writers. A good job was done by all.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2019When the blurb mentions story telling with reckless abandon, never have truer words been spoken right there and then.
When you have a number of bar patrons steadily getting inebriated you often get the wildest and unlikeliest of stories being told, each narrator swearing blue on all srts of equally unlikely things of how true his/her story or take on life is.
And now we have such a collection here with Bob's Bar...erm...the Multiverse Bar. Not that most of the patrons in this extra dimensional group can get inebriated, being bodily modded more often than not.
The whackiest tall story is probably the one of the cheese god (yup!) that had me me spellbound in disgusted fascination.
You will have to travel far and wide to get as weird, outlandish and, quite frankly, strangely a funny collection of stories in a setting as in this book. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Mix of Tales
About a 4.5 star for this some of the stories are better than others.
The fame and quality of writing is very good bit the stories themselves maybe a bit more hit and miss dependant on who you recognise.
Favs is Bethany Anne from the Kutherian universe and Tanis from the Aeon 14 universe.
Most of the buyers will be fans of a particular author/s and looking to add more tales to their collection but for a quick read then this may suit those looking to test an author out and then maybe try their first book free etc.
As with any collection of shorts its readers opnion will vary but i thought it a reasonable deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing...
Loved how the authors all pulled together to come up with series of tales about each of their own characters. They all meet up in a bar of all places and it makes the reader wonder who this Collecter is and is there anything nefarious behind it. Bring on book 2 to see if there are any answers to these questions!

4.0 out of 5 stars I am not generally a short story fan.😕
However, I knew eventually I would end up buying and reading it to complete my collection. I was very pleasantly surprised by this book! Overall it was a good collection of stories, it's good for a refresher on who's who... but other than that, was just OK for what it is.

5.0 out of 5 stars So funny
Loved this book. I already know about BA (Kurtherian Gambit) and Amanda from the Magi Series. Tanis is mentioned in the Magi Saga. The rest will probably come into play somewhere along the line.
