About the authors
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore in the U.S. but have had a weird wanderlust to live in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Thank you for checking out my stories! There's more at www.marthacarr.com.
Join us on Facebook to hear about new books, giveaways, an idea rolling around about a universe-wide scavenger hunt at the end of the year and more. If you like the series please leave a review and send me a note. More adventures to follow - and thanks for sticking with me.
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!

- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2024It took awhile to get into this boxed set but after the first book I started reading faster. The last three books I read in two days. It is a good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2022Fran is a highbred, a mixture of Evermore and Woodward. A person who wasn’t supposed to be. Evermores never breed out of their clan. But things happen and Fran is the outcome. Full of light and cheer and a love of seeing the right thing happen. She brings together the strangest team ever thought of to build things that make people happy. The fbi love their containment field and the people love her toys. But she has a very strong enemy that fights unfair and she finds she is part of an old prophecy that takes them all on a mad run. Well worth reading past the few spots to get the best story. You will be glad you read the stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2024I have to say, generally speaking, I tend to read mysteries and dramas. When I got this collection I thought that I would be lucky to finish the first book. I enjoy books with strong female characters, so Fran drew me in - quirky, intelligent and persistent! I never really dwelled on the various physical characteristics of the different species of characters, but rather on their unique personalities. Unexpectedly, I found that I was charging into the next book as soon as I completed each one. I don't think I will go through the multitude of books these two authors have written, but when I need an escape from reality, I know where to look and know I will not be disappointed!!

Felt drained and overwhelmed by all the little 'Downers' that life can throw at us.
This is a fun, upbeat story to brighten an otherwise dreary day. Cute and quirky. An easy read that will make you fall in love with the lead players. Sit back and prepare to smile a little brighten. Thanks for the lift to my spirt during a dark spell in my life.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2023I liked the series, though not quite as much as some other series I have read. I need to qualify this by freely admitting I'm not a "techie" so others more into tech & coding would probably love it. I did enjoy the novel ideas behind some of the invention ideas. I also enjoyed the novel characters and their interactions. To me, that carried the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2024This series of books has been an outstanding read. I have so enjoyed the continuity of all of the Oriceran books. Each branch brings its own unique story which is so amazing the way that Martha Carr and Michael Anderle have crafted it so very well.
Thank you for your work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series you won't put down
I loved the whole book. The characters are all so different but work together to keep the action flowing. Masterful writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely enjoyable read.
I am about halfway through book 7 of the Evermores Chronicles and have been thoroughly enjoying reading this box set.
The more you read, the harder it gets to put this book down as the storyline gets evermore intense.
*** Spoiler Alert ***
It’s been nice to read a box set like this where I actually like the main character, Fran Berryman. She is intelligent, but never arrogant. She also has absolutely no street smarts and can come across as rather naive at times.
Fran is genuinely nice to everybody, both with friends and strangers, which is how she ends up with such a great core team when setting up her business. She practically “niced” Singar into joining the fledgling company. It’s also been nice to watch Singar’s character grow and learn to relax a bit, safe in the knowledge that neither Fran, nor the rest of the team, will ever blindly judge her based upon her being a Willen.
The one thing I don’t particularly like is both Fran and Singars’ blazé attitude towards taking other people’s technology apart, not just to see how things work (which would be a perfectly acceptable reason), but in order to steal said technology. One or both of them told Bart that they thought it was okay to do this on the basis that they would improve it. This is called reverse engineering and while it isn’t always illegal, it seems like a rather sleazy and unethical way to do business. If you steal someone else’s technology, then technically you’re also stealing their profits.
So, it’s rather ironic that another company has decided to sue Mana Wave for stealing their idea. Fran seems to be rather shocked that anyone could make that accusation, which is doubly ironic given what I wrote above.
BUT, Mana Wave is being sued for “stealing an idea”. According to intellectual property law, you can’t “steal an idea”, therefore they simply have no case. Just imagine all the different companies who produce the same product, like socks for example. If they all sued each other over the idea, it would be complete chaos.
In my old job, we actually had a reverse engineering clause in our contracts with private companies, which would be very costly for them if they chose to break it.
Apart from that one little niggle, I really love these books. It’s nice, light reading that is becoming increasingly hard to put down the closer it gets to the climax.
The one thing I hate about a long series of books is having to say goodbye to the characters at the end. When you find books as well written as these, the characters become friends and you want to know what happens to them once the story is complete. So, I hope to be able to see them again in other Oriceran books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, fun & entertaining
I’ve encountered quite a few lead characters who I’d love to meet, befriend or have as a leader, but now there’s one I’d love to work for. I wish we lived in a world where positivity, enthusiasm, drive, excitement and a good heart were something truly celebrated in business & work. And where fun was actually a priority in life. Ok I could definitely do without the nightmare (literally) trying to destroy the world. But I would love to be part of a team that truly embraced people’s strengths & supported them in overcoming shortcomings. Especially since the output of that team would no doubt be almost as legendary as this incredible group of beings. All unapologetically themselves & embraced for it. Enabling them to deal with such horrors as giant mutant rats, nightmare creatures, murderous pixies, bad guys, monsters & even politicians! Really an excellent read. But make sure you have plenty of coffee & cake handy - you’re going to need it!
