About this ebook

This is a heart-wrenching story. Be certain to have plenty of tissues handy! And, if someone tells you not to cry, just hand them the book.

When Candyce Bjornsblom turned 16, she became an adult - just like everyone else her age. Shortly, thereafter, Candyce started taking on Foster Daughters. By the time she was 18, Candyce had five foster daughters. They all went out to eat to celebrate Candyce's birthday. When they arrived home, Candyce was torn from her daughters, kidnapped, and taken to live on a tropical jungle island. It's hard to say which was the scariest, the Guards, the snakes, or the birds.

While Candyce was there, she cared for 100 girls who had also been kidnapped and brought there. After 200 days, Candyce made her escape. Yet, there seemed to be no escape from her nightmares.

The Recurring Nightmare of Hell's Jungle - Dale Stubbart

I’m Certain That You Can Relate

This story is compiled from the Court Record for the Information Inquiry into the Case of Candyce Bjornsblom. She was kidnapped and subsequently managed to escape.

Shortly before Ms Bjornsblom was kidnapped she experienced a kind of Heaven. Perhaps, you’ve experienced something similar.

You know what it’s like. You’re focusing hard on getting your work done. It’s very dull work to be sure. But, still, you’re getting paid to do it. And, you need the money.

Unbidden it comes, that feather of joy. That thrill that goes deep into your bones.

That burst of sparkles ends. Yet it’s followed by another or by some bubbles that float toward you.

Work demands that you tear yourself away from this joy. Yet, you can never seem to totally do that.

Unknown to you, there’s really no need to worry about this. That joy will end on its own soon enough.

While it lasts, let yourself luxuriate in its deliriousness. That will help you make it through your days later on.

In the midst of everything else going on around you, for a moment, everything is wonderful. And, you wouldn’t have it any other way.

You think, Please, let these moments of joy always continue to happen! Let me remember them forever!

AFTER CANDYCE BJORNSBLOM escaped from her Kidnappers, she had recurring nightmares about her experience. Perhaps, you know how that is.

During the day you seem normal enough. But, something tells you that you’re not OK, not really.

Still, you are able to distract yourself enough. And, you can pretend to not notice that something is disturbing your every waking moment.

You know that you haven’t been getting enough sleep. But, you think that’s to be expected. You ask yourself, Does anyone get enough sleep these days?

Some people suffer from a lack of sleep, not knowing what their nightmares are. They might not even be aware that they are having them.

You might not remember your nightmare stealing your sleep every night. On the other hand, you might be one of those who knows that what disturbs your sleep is a nightmare.

In fact, you might be one of those who knows what your nightmare is. Even though, at times, you thought that the worst of it was over.

Whichever of these scenarios you identify with, your nightmare, or perhaps nightmares, still haunt you every night.

Why won’t they just go away?!?!?!

Candyce Pickapluck’s Court Record of the Information Inquiry for the Case of Candyce Bjornsblom’s Kidnapping starts out like this.

I suppose that every place and every setting has its own Local Hero. Candyce Bjornsblom might not be widely-known outside of her hometown. That just happens to also be my hometown. In fact, I doubt that she is very well-known outside of her friends and family and the Local Community.

Be that as it may, Candyce Bjornsblom is one of my Hero’s. And, I feel privileged to have been the Court Recorder for her Case.

THIS CASE WAS SERIOUS enough, that before there could be a Trial, an Information Inquiry had to be held. Most people, including Ms Bjornsblom refer to Information Inquiries as Trials. Nevertheless, an Information Inquiry is a semi-formal meeting. Its purpose is to collect as much information as possible about a crime before a Case goes to Trial.

An Information Inquiry determines if there is sufficient evidence to hold a Trial. It tries to make certain that no surprises arise during that Trial.

EVEN THOUGH THE PURPOSE of an Information Inquiry is to gather information, a lot of that Information is gathered before the Inquiry begins. When, appropriate, some of that previously gathered information is shared during the Inquiry.

The key witness, Candyce Bjornsblom in this Case, gets the opportunity to give a complete, yet shortened version of her testimony out loud.

More information can be added to the Court Record between the Information Inquiry and the Trial. It can be added, so long as that information is pertinent and adds value.

I HAVE SEEN PICTURES of some Trials that happened a long time ago. In those pictures, when the Witness gave their Testimony, they had to sit on a chair near the Judge.

These days, there is a Witness Box in the audience. The idea is that the Witness can relax more, if they are not right next to the Judge. That Witness Box is big enough to hold the Witness and one or two Lawyers.

If Candyce’s Lawyer were present, she would sit in the Witness Box beside Candyce. However, Candyce’s Lawyer, presented me with all of the Information that she has, before the Information Inquiry began. So, she won’t be attending this Information Inquiry. Likewise for the Kidnappers’ Lawyer.

With no Lawyer present, there is plenty of room in the Witness Box. So, Judge Gladdious is allowing Justyce Jewelsleaf to sit there with Candyce. Ms Jewelsleaf is Ms Bjornsblom’s best friend. Candyce’s daughters will be sitting in the row behind the Witness Box.

DURING THIS INFORMATION Inquiry, Candyce Bjornsblom will tell the Court about being kidnapped and being held prisoner on a Jungle Island for approximately 200 days.

Ms Bjornsblom will also testify about her recurring nightmares of being back on that Island with its Guards and its nasty snakes and its not-so-nice birds. She says that her nightmares occurred every night that she was there. And, even after she escaped, they still occur most nights.

And, that, Candyce says, is the larger nightmare of being kidnapped and left in that Jungle Hell. It’s not that it happened to you once. It’s that it keeps happening to you. Again, and again, and again!

CR:CP A black and white logo Description automatically generated = Court Recorder: Carolynnia Pickapluck

MS PICKAPLUCK INCLUDED little tags in the Court Record like the one above. She used them to indicate who was speaking or providing this information. A reference for those tags has been included at the back of this book.

    An Empath’s Empath

This note was paperclipped to the Court Record, right after Carolynnia Pickapluck’s introduction of herself. This note contains Ms Pickapluck’s thoughts and feelings on Candyce Bjornsblom’s experience.

One possible reason why this note was not included in the Court Record, is because it’s solely someone’s viewpoint. Another possible reason why, is that Court Recorders are supposed to record others, not themselves.

I, CAROLYNNIA PICKAPLUCK, am an empath. And, being an empath certainly has its rewards.

Still and nonetheless, there are times, especially lately, when I wish that I was just a little bit less of an empath. Indeed, every time I learn more about this case, I find myself wishing that I was a whole lot less of an empath than I am. Sometimes, I have even hoped that I wasn’t an empath at all.

Thankfully, times when I have wished that I wasn’t an empath or was less of one, have never lasted for long. I wouldn’t be who I am if I weren’t as much of an empath as I am.

I would probably still be a Court Recorder. But, my record might have less of an impact. It would only contain words and not feelings.

IT MAKES ME TREMBLE just to think about being kidnapped. To think about remembering it, scares the living daylights out of me.

If that would have happened to me as often as it has happened to Candyce Bjornsblom, I would have gone straight out of my mind. I might have even gone berserk. It’s amazing that she’s still sane.

There is only one thing that keeps me from thinking about those events and the terrors associated with them. That’s one benefit of my job as a Court Recorder.

When I notice that I’ve been thinking about this case too long, and am just about ready to tear out my hair, I sit at my recording device. Then, I let my fingers fly.

What comes out is pure gibberish. And, all of those pages are shredded and then burned.

Still, getting those feelings out on paper really helps. I can then continue about my day. I can continue until the nightmares happen again.

Then, I let my fingers fly again until the jitters are again on paper. And, that gibberish is also shredded and burned.

    Judge Gladdious

This note is a Profile of the Judge for Candyce Bjornsblom’s Case and her duties / job.

JUDGE # GLADDIOUS’ job during this Information Inquiry was to oversee everything. Her job was to make certain that all of the pertinent information that could be obtained was obtained. And, it was the Court Recorder’s job to obtain that information.

So, sometimes between sessions in the Court and before and after sessions, Judge Gladdious would sit with the Recorder Pickapluck – myself. We would discuss what information had already been recorded. And, we would talk about how whatever was missing from the Court Record might be obtained.

Some of that information would be obtained from Testimony presented to the Court during the Information Inquiry. Most of it, though, would be obtained through research. For deeper research, Judge Gladdious usually has
