That was just so stinking sweet. I loved Josephine. I was both surprised and delighted that her ‘rebellion’ was so innocuous. Especially considering the treatment she received at her mother’s hands. Otto was quite adorable; very noble and a smidgen self-sacrificing. I thought the two of them made a delightful pair. I would have enjoyed a bit of a deeper dive into the politics around them, though. There’s a fast pass about her parents’ marriage and some high-level notes about the next gen

I admired the character's hootspa, especially Josephine's. Being forced into a marriage seems cruel and unconscionable, yet it was (and still is in some places) regular practice. The desire to "feel" is natural and it was a joy to see these characters defy society's expectations to obtain that freely given ability. However, once experienced, will they be able to live a life without? To enter their destined nuptials with the resolve they believe? Will be interesting to see how Otto and Josephine fare as their respective days approach. I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily provided this review. It was highly engaging with sweet, heartfelt characters that have readers rooting for their happy ending. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

Josephine longs to be more than a pawn in her mother's world. But as the daughter of the Shifter Queen, she has a duty to fulfill. Otto has a similar obligation to his family. Their assignations could bode ill for their kingdoms, or set the tone for a better future. A sweet novella all around, with a princess who claims joy for herself while faced with marriage to a faceless man. Good thing Otto is as bold as she, risking scandal by talking to the lone female.
