A goddess designed to give punishments might be the only option for saving the day.
When Ra's barge gets stuck in the afterlife, the gods have to rally to try and save it before it causes too many problems. With no other option, Tatenen turns to Sesy, a goddess from the caverns.
Sesy is used to living a life devoid of much, especially since souls stopped being sent to her to be punished, but now she has a chance at regaining a purpose, and she has to decide whether to ally with the gods, or to continue her life as it once was.

Okay
Sesy female 30’ acid-spitting snake is one of the cavern Duat torture deities. She helps Tatenen “Tate” a creation god, another cavern deity, who splits time with living and afterlife, to solve the riddle of the stationary Ra’s Barge. Romance develops. It’s okay. Just wasn’t interested in this story as the others.

Sesy and Tatenen
I found this story fascinating as it was a tale of the darker side of the afterlife as thought of by the Ancient Egyptians. It involved gods and goddesses who dealt white those who failed the test to enter the underworld or Duat. While it was a bit too snake heavy for me as they’re a huge phobia of mine it nevertheless still intrigued me. I enjoyed learning about the caverns and those who inhabit them. As well as what their lives might be like thousands of years after the majority of their believers have died and they’ve been forgotten. This is a romance at the core so there is the build of love between the two main characters, it’s mostly sweet with a bit of heat. A fictionalized and fascinating trip to the underworld with a burgeoning love to drive the story. Definitely recommend!.
