Born in Nigeria, but raised in South London, UK, Maryann's poetic passion was evident from a very young age. For many years she would use the creativity of her mind as a form of expression and to escape to "Coker Land", but after being diagnosed with Lupus in 2018 (after 9 years of misdiagnosis), she faced the devastating prospect of not only a life of pain and sickness, but also no longer being able to use her mind in the way she had done so previously. Nevertheless, as she learned to lean on God and His Word, she found the grace and strength to begin writing again, culminating in her first published work, The Wolf and the Butterfly.
