Jasper was a simple Archivist in the advanced city of Aethelburg. He spent his days cataloging the deeds of heroes, local affairs, and advancements in magic, dreaming of discovering something new but sadly content to be a cog in the background of history. He believed the world was ordered and safe.

He was wrong.

In a single moment, many of the moons changed in inexplicable ways before vanishing. The shields protecting the city shattered. Giant shadows slithered along the sky. Jasper died in the cataclysm, terrified and alone.

But death was not the end.

He awakens along the shores of a dark river, but this isn't the peaceful afterlife society promised. It is a chaotic collision of myths and worlds of death, where the rivers bleed into many unknown paths. The gods and monsters are loose, and they are at war.

Penniless, magicless, and fading fast, Jasper is a speck of dust in a hurricane of divine power. He has no weapon but his Archivist’s mind and a stubborn refusal to fade away.

To escape these eternities, he must navigate a realm where the laws change with the tide, and where the only thing more dangerous than the monsters are the gods judging you.
