Jake was football star, musical theater god, and the focus of Indica’s impossible, all-consuming infatuation. If anything, that had made high school even more painful, and she’s not sure she wants to stir up any of those memories.

Still, Jake’s hanging out at a local bar, inviting anyone interested to join him. She hasn’t seen him in 4,745 days (that’s 13 years for non-math nerds). She’s certain everyone else in the world is romantically entwined with a partner right now. And she’s alone in her flat in San Francisco. It wouldn’t hurt to take a little peek, would it?

When Indica spontaneously decides to join Jake, she sets in motion events that will change her life. While reliving her past—best friends, mean girls, surprising cast party encounters, and more—Indica learns that not everything was how it appeared then. And some of her false assumptions are holding her back in ways she hadn’t realized. Seeing Jake again, the clash of her past with her present is inescapable.

But could Jake be her future?

A standalone novella in the That’s Entertainment series.

About the author

Christine Harvey

Christine has been a writer all of her life: from a children’s book at the age of 11 about orphaned animals to daily journaling to novels.

She majored in Creative Writing at San Francisco State University and wrote a personal column for a quarterly newsletter focusing on the entertainment industry for four years.

Although her day job as a non-profit fundraiser requires database geekery, Christine finds writing a great deal more fun. Both she and her characters also know that a pair of colorful cowboy boots can change your life. Plus, life is better with a little fantasy. And sword fighting.

Christine lives in California with her husband and far too many books. Christine is currently at work on her next novel.
