Jeffrey DeShawn
Jeffrey DeShawn is a Vision Coach and Strategist based in the Washington, DC area. He is the Founder of Enspired Muse Coaching and Managment and the Executive Director of the International Federation of Black Prides Fund for Leadership. No Safe Space is Jeffrey DeShawn's first published collection of essay poems. Jeffrey DeShawn grew up in Durham, NC after spending his early years in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The Howard University School of Social Work. Jeffrey DeShawn is the Former Director of the Mayor's Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs in Washington, DC and served as the openly openly gay African American member of the Democratic National Committee from 2004 - 2008. When Jeffrey is not writing, reflecting and coaching, he is actively engaged in leadership and community development within the social and non-profit sector.
