Shane’s parents thought that getting the summer cabin on Lake Vautour was the perfect idea. Shane is sad to be away from his friends, but also loves the outdoors. Upon arriving, they get acquainted with the local rangers, and Shane meets a few other people who live around the lake. The lake is as creepy as it is beautiful, and weird things begin to happen; not only is there a hermit who lives in the woods and a large number of turkey vultures inexplicably roosting nearby, but people begin to go missing, and Shane hears strange noises in the night. The longer Shane stays at the cabin, he is unsure of whom to trust and just what lurks in the surrounding woods.
