September thought the small college in New Mexico was the perfect place to escape the tragedy at home. It is, until an attraction to her new roommate, Mattie, causes her to start questioning things she thought she knew.

When Mattie's new girlfriend leads her into a downward spiral of drinking, drugs, and violent behavior, September has no choice and seeks help from Mattie's ex, Kate--who blames her for their breakup.

As September and kate work together to try and help Mattie, her confusion grows. She starts to wonder, is Mattie still the one she has feelings for--or is it Kate?
