Munir Karataş

Director, Producer, Screenwriter-Author

Born in Eskişehir in 1962, Münir Karataş began his storytelling career as a reporter at the Turkish News Agency during his student years. The discipline of observation and sense of reality he acquired during this period formed the basis of his later work in cinema and television.

After settling in Istanbul, he directed television programs, documentaries, music videos, commercials, and television series. His interest in ethnic and Turkish music was concretized in a special project of 11 albums prepared for Sony Music Turkey and released under the Sony-Columbia label.

Karataş also works in the field of technology, participating in the creation process of the MorSoft software developed for the advertising sector; he also carried out analysis and design studies for sound, image, and pattern recognition systems in TÜBİTAK projects.

"Apocalyptic Capitalism" is the author's second non-fiction book. His works, "The Tale of the Great Forgetfulness," a political-ontological narrative, and "Omega Archive," a collection of science fiction stories, are currently being prepared for publication.

Karataş, whose writings focusing on art, technology, and human relations are published on various digital platforms, is a member of the Cinema and Television Copyright Holders' Association (SETEM).
