Ahmet Sinan Eskicioğlu

Ahmet Sinan Eskicioglu was born in Izmir. After graduating from a religious high school, he completed his studies at the Faculty of Theology in Izmir. During his time at university, he actively participated in conferences as well as academic and cultural projects. As the son of a professor of Islamic law in an academic family, he engaged intensively with the topics of Islamic law and Islamic law in modern life. He grew up in a neighborhood in Izmir predominantly inhabited by Muslim academics and various religious groups, which allowed him to observe and analyze these groups and their fields of work up close.

In his thesis on "The Will of God and the Problem of Causality," he explored physics, quantum physics, and the will of the Creator.

In 2003, he came to Germany for academic studies and attended the universities of Duisburg-Essen and Osnabrück.

He worked in the educational sector at mosques affiliated with the DITIB and IGMG organizations. There, he held the positions of chair of the committee for the annual curriculum development and director of the educational center.

Between 2012 and 2017, he was self-employed and was able to closely observe professional and working life during this time.

Since 2017, he has been writing for the online newspaper Ocakmedya and began working on his book projects.

 

His works have been published since 2019; to date, nine books have been released, including titles such as Zeytin Agaci (The Olive Tree), Ibn Sina, Ibn Haldun, Farabi, and Ibn Rushd. In parallel with his writing, he served as a religious counselor in various correctional facilities in the Rhine-Ruhr region from 2019 to 2025.

As editor-in-chief and publisher of the newspaper Ocakmedya, as well as the father of a daughter preparing for her high school graduation, Sinan Eskicioglu is deeply committed to scholarly and coherent religious education for young people. His works currently in preparation therefore focus on young people's understanding of religion, including the titles: German Islam and Faith in Modern Life.
