Based in Adelaide, South Australia, Vanessa Jones is a screenwriter and author, runs her own business as a copywriter and has quite a varied background in marketing. Vanessa holds an Advanced Diploma of Professional Writing (awarded most outstanding student in poetry), has previously been awarded a commendation for the SOYA writing category (2013), winner of National Year of Reading short story competition (2011), was a SA Writers Centre youth ambassador and editor (2011) and co editor of Australian Poetry Anthology (2011).

In 2021, she was shortlisted for the Hothouse Screenwriting Residency with Mercury CX and placed as runner-up for the Script Pipeline Great TV and Movie Idea Contest in early 2022.

Known for her love of waffles, the colour red and all things occult.
