Beonca Welle was born in Oregon, USA, where she grew up, was home-schooled, and was early introduced to creative writing, largely through the works of Piers Anthony and J.R.R. Tolkien. She was self-taught until her mid-teen years, when she began to take the craft more seriously by purchasing textbooks or taking online courses with her meager savings. It wasn't until she moved to Georgia, USA, to be with her enlisted husband that she finally sat down to begin a long-awaited career in High Fantasy novel-writing. Much of her inspiration is derived from nature, but she also finds a calling in culture and psychology.
