'Real love comes along once in a lifetime. This love is real, but happens at the wrong time.'

Have you ever read a book, or witness something in your life so beautiful, it stained your soul? It could be that you've experienced love at first sight, but then it's gone, like a puff of smoke. Or maybe you have eaten something so delicious, that you've tried like hell to re-create it, but nothing as good ever passes your lips again. Well that is exactly what happened to the Son of a billionaire oil tycoon, Grayson Crane. It was one dance performance by Jennifer Conner, which stole his teenage heart.

As the years pass by, both Grayson and Jennifer live through cataclysmic life events. Jennifer struggles to make ends meet, caring for her wayward teenage Sister. As Grayson endures terminal illness, which only makes his obsession with Jennifer a necessity, because he has absolutely nothing to lose.

When he's put in charge of overseeing the renovations at the very hotel Jennifer performed when he was a teenager, he has a crazy plan to finally meet her; a plan that crosses his own moral line.

Excerpt

Every boy in my class giggled and laughed all the way through her performance. But I couldn't take my eyes off her. There was this energy I can't explain, which told me back then she was special, and that one day I would have to meet her. I never saw her face until the end, and when that screen lifted and she saw the standing ovation just for her, I knew right then that she had become a memory of something good and pure. As an eighteen year old boy, she touched my soul.

"Jen, please join me. I don't require a dance tonight."

"Well, you're kind of in the wrong place then."

"Please, sit."

"I think it would be better if I stand. Look, you can't just keep coming here and giving me money for nothing. A hell of a lot of money. The alarm bells are ringing in my head. If you wait here, I'll get your money, and you can have it back."

"The money is yours. Please do not presume the worst of me."

"Well I am. What the hell am I supposed to presume?"

"Just be… Just be open-minded."

Half of me is being ruled by my requirements, telling me to be a man and enjoy watching her body. And the other half, my heart, tells me to stop this before my feelings get out of hand. I've now come to the conclusion that she is so much more than a dancer in some dirty club. She has tragedy in her eyes, and because I've been blinded by what I need to feel, I didn't consider her.
