Dear Reader,

I am so happy you’ve taken the time out of your day to enjoy my stories. I know time is our most precious resource and I hope I did right by yours :) There’s a lot that goes into producing a story, but some of my main influences have always been my love of technology, the future, and the ever-present darkness at the edge of the human soul.

I have long been a reader of the science fiction genre especially darker stories that unite strange and interesting worlds with quasi-supernatural abilities (think Dune or Star Wars). So after much thought, I found myself planning the Universe of The Captain’s Inferno long before I even realized I was going to write a book.

It wasn’t until I saw a copy of The Inferno by Dante Alighieri sitting on my bookshelf that I knew what kind of story I was going to tell. Being a Catholic Christian the idea and truth of Hell has always been very powerful to me.

So I thought to myself, what would it be like to send my characters to Hell not physically, as Dante did in The Inferno but in an emotional and spiritual way? Thus, the idea for The Captain’s Inferno was born. My series follows the same trajectory that Dante wrote about in the fourteenth century. He started at the upper (less painful) circles of Hell and took his characters all the way down to the bottom.

I plan to follow the philosopher’s footsteps, so I hope you’re up for one Hell of a ride!

A bit more personally, I was raised in a small town in Washington State and after four years of school in New York and several years spent bouncing around the East Coast. I settled in Toms River, NJ with my beautiful wife Jordan (we are both just so amazing we had to have the same name) our daughter Rose, and sons Augustan and Ambrose.

In my free time, my hobbies include working out, martial arts, and reading. Besides that, I enjoy defeating my wife at Scrabble (when she’s not cheating) and playing just about any other board or card game known to man.

I hope you enjoyed my story and if you have any thoughts or questions I’d love to hear from you! Send me an email at jordan@jordanthiga.com and we’ll talk, I read every one.

Regards,

Jordan
