Krista Marson used to be a travel agent back in the day when there was such a thing. The 90s and early 2000s were good to her, and she got to bounce around the globe on the last bit of coattails that was once the booming travel agent industry -- before 9/11 and The Great Recession yanked the magic carpet out from under her feet. She works in a hospital now, and the advent of COVID-19 has not only changed the way that she looks at her job, but it has transformed the way that she looks at the world. She traveled extensively in the past 25+ years, and people have always told her that she needed to write her travel stories down. She always thought that she had forever to write them, but now she knows that forever is not as long as she thought it was.
