About the author

Jencel Panic

Jencel's journey began far from the ivory towers of academia, in the Zen monasteries of Kyoto, where they spent years as a wandering monk, practicing silence and meditation in search of enlightenment.

This grounding in Zen Buddhism instilled in Jencel a profound appreciation for the impermanence and unpredictability of reality—concepts that later became the bedrock of their philosophical explorations. After leaving the monastic life, Jencel embarked on a series of unpredictable ventures: working as a shadowy cryptographer for underground networks, performing avant-garde street art in European cities, and even leading mindfulness workshops for high-stakes poker players who sought to master the art of controlled chaos.

In "The Contours..." Jencel combines these disparate experiences into a powerful critique of the mental constructs we rely on to make sense of the world. With a perspective shaped as much by Zen koans as by modern cognitive science, Jencel challenges readers to embrace the inherent uncertainty of existence and to see beyond the illusions of order we create for ourselves.

Living now in a secluded cabin deep in the forests of Rilla mountain Jencel spends their days meditating, writing, and observing the stars, always searching for the next question to unravel. Their life is a testament to the principle of living in harmony with the unpredictable flow of the universe, making Jencel a truly unique voice in contemporary thought.
