Shifting for the first time in the middle of a battle to protect my mate, the infuriating man who’d been teasing and taunting me for months, isn’t exactly how I wanted to transition into my new queen abilities. Yet here we are. To make matters worse, my wyvern still had control when I shifted back and bit Connor, marking him as mine…in front of everyone. Now the ornery bitch shifts whenever Connor and I attempt to cement the bond.

Ayla is about to make a deal with Malick, something I’m sure we all wish we could avoid, but we need to know more about the Harja. My new queen instincts are screaming at me, but I have no idea what the hell they’re trying to say. It feels as though danger and death are closing in on us at every turn. How the hell are the Sins able to tell what we’re about to do? Unless there’s someone in our midst that is feeding them information. Can we figure out who it is before it’s too late?

We need to find Ayla’s sisters; they’re key to making sure that the gates of hell remain sealed. Do we risk alerting the Harja to their location? Or do we leave them and pray to the gods that they remain hidden? Is it possible to trust an archdemon while turning a scrutinizing eye to one of our own?

I need to get my wyvern in check, finalize my bond with Connor, and figure out Isobel and Sorcha’s exact locations, ASAP. No pressure. Fuck. All the pressure.
