As a child, Kelly wrote many stories and employed the local neighborhood
kids as writers for her book company. Kelly finds inspiration for her children's
books from the simple things in life that are often overlooked. She often scratches
her ideas on post-it notes with worn-down pencils. She also appreciates the power
of an off-beat short story or poem.
Kelly lives in Wheaton, Illinois with her two amazing young boys, husband–
and Shirley–a loving chocolate lab.
