KATE FRIDRIKS is a Scottish writer from Wishaw and Motherwell. She spent her early years in a South African steel town and her later childhood and teenage years within sight of the Ravenscraig steelwork in the 1980s.
Her debut novel, Real Gone Kid, is inspired by her experiences.
