Chad V. Holtkamp

Chad V. Holtkamp has always had that dual nature of being interested in business (numbers, wearing a suit, working in an office) while also being a creative at heart (singing/playing guitar in alt/punk bands, DJing, writing, photography, and acting).

​​​​​​​His academic advisor in college told him to learn a trade after he said he wanted to be a writer. Being 20 and infatuated with Goethe and the Romantic movement, that wasn’t what he wanted to hear. He wanted to be an ARTIST, not work in an office.

Fast-forward 25 years and the office worker has won out the majority of the time while he’s still dabbled in his creative endeavors.

After a six-year stint as a monthly freelance entertainment columnist in the early 2000s alongside a career in corporate recruiting, he dusted off his minor in Writing with the ​​​​​​​Home Gym Strong series of fitness memoirs in 2015. In 2018, he created The SPOOK & GOON Space Adventures as his first fiction series. Since then, he expanded into other areas of fiction as well while digging through the archives of his early writing career with the From the Vault Music series.

​​​​​​​Born and raised on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi in Davenport, Iowa, Chad lives in Chicago with his beautiful wife and a varied collection of Macs and BBQ grills, always dreaming of his next Caribbean adventure.
