A fate not written in stone, for all rests upon the unknown

While James and Rhiannon attempt to master their Guardian magic, Rhiannon is attacked by Merrick when he arrives in Kiluemar and shows up on their doorstep. But a deal is made to stop him, saving Rhiannon, and giving the twins until their next birthday to summon the last of their magic before Merrick comes back for them.

After the events of the attack, Rhiannon struggles to overcome the trauma of what happened to her and the fears of what destiny truly has in store, while James refuses to give up on her when she pushes him away.

But as time moves on, so does the lingering reminder of the price that must be paid for the deal, until it is too late.

As the final payment nears, so do hardships, inner demons, and another verse to the prophecy as the twins and their family continue to fight for their lives.
