I didn't grow up with wealth. I didn't inherit it, marry into it, or stumble across some secret formula. What I did was keep learning, keep questioning, and keep showing up—even when the financial path ahead wasn't all that clear. That persistence helped me reach what I call "mostly retired" by 52. I wrote Financial Fluency in Dad-Speak after realizing I'd learned things I wish I could've taught my sons before they left home. So I wrote it for them—and for anyone else trying to figure out how money works in a world that doesn't make it easy to understand.
