shot at in Kashmir by separatists; 
saved from kidnap in France with the use of a Brazilian hunting knife gifted by a bare-knuckle fighter for the Mafia; 
leader of expeditions to Northern India, Nepal, Thailand and Japan; 
a student of some of the greatest living masters of Tibetan Buddhism.
His day job involves managing the Religion and Philosophy department at one of the UK’s leading independent schools.
He has a beautiful wife and three talented children.
