Wendy Higdon

Wendy Higdon has been managing her weight for the last 50+ years. The birth of the idea of writing Change Your Mind, Change Your Body came from a friend who said, "Write what you're passionate about."

As a bestselling author, she helps women and men who struggle with their weight by using psychological principles from a holistic perspective, so they can be healthier, happier, and more self-confident.

As a marriage and family therapist, Wendy has helped hundreds of men and women make changes in their lives. She can help you to avoid the snags in the process of losing weight and to manage temptations along the way as you "change your mindset to change your body."

Wendy also has a varied background, which enables her to connect with people on various levels. Growing up in the Boston area and later moving to Michigan, she has a Bachelor of Music degree from Michigan State University. In the mid-1970's she was a secretary in the Middle East and evacuated to London, England when the war broke out in Beirut, Lebanon. Upon her return to the United States, she worked in the courthouse and at Hewlett-Packard in Colorado Springs.

Wendy met her husband, who was serving in the military, in Colorado Springs. They have four adult children. When her oldest son went off to college, she went back to school to get her masters degree in counseling psychology. They are involved in Christian ministry and live in sunny Oceanside, California.

She enjoys reading, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and baking, although she saves baking time for special occasions to avoid the collateral damage!
