Rosie, abandoned by her owner, watches him and his son get into their car and drive away. She runs after them, convincing herself they only went to the beach and forgot about her. But then the dog catcher is on her tail. She soon arrives at the dog shelter. Charlie Rooster, an old-timer at the shelter, warns her to put her best face on so she can get adopted. Otherwise, she will end up on The Last Walk Home, a place where dogs go who can't find a home and never return. One morning, Rosie wakes to find Charlie Rooster taken to The Last Walk Home. Has he gone the way of the other unfortunate dogs and is Rosie next on the list?
