Douglas Owen is a Canadian born writer of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Fiction novels. Born in Scarborough, Ontario, he now calls Stouffville his home along with his wife and two cats, Samantha and Murray.

Doug’s writing career started with elaborate back stories for characters in role playing games and expended to what is now called Flash Fiction. He never thought much about extending his talent until later in life.

Douglas now creates works of fiction from flash stories, short stories, and full novels. His most surprising success is his young adult series, Spear, which is celebrated by readers of all ages. His short stories have enticed many and his flash fiction is a delight to his writers group. Two of his short stories appeared in MashStories and achieve short list status in their quarterly online magazine.

With many projects on the go, Doug still finds time to run his writing seminar called “The First Draft” for aspiring writers in the GTA. He also works with young adults and coached them into creating amazing works of fiction, stories, and songs.

He is the Circulation Director of IndyFest Magazine and a contributing colomnist writing "A Written View".

Doug took over the Managing Editor position of Science Fiction and Fantasy Publications in 2014.
