Why are you here?

INTRODUCTION

This book records my journey of discovery to find the answers to these questions, Why, How, What and Where. Maybe you are searching for answers to the very same questions, if so you may relate to some of my experiences. There are some people who are happy to sit safely in the bunker and hope it doesn't take a direct hit. There are those who are prepared to stick their heads above the parapet and ask the big questions even though the answers may result in injury. For many years the Bible was an enigma to me, although I believed that within its pages were answers to the big questions. Because I found the Bible confusing I held the book at arm's length, not wanting to upset my equilibrium.

The book records my journey starting from my boyhood in the UK and moving to Australia where I live today. However my intention is to describe my spiritual journey, how I slowly but surely got to the big picture recorded in the Bible.

I hope you get as much excitement and joy as I did when discovering the most amazing message within the pages of the Bible. By no means do I intend to write a comprehensive account of the Bible, there are multitudes of books covering every Biblical subject imaginable. I am going to take the reader on a speedy walk through the scriptures with the intent of exploring the most beautiful and awe-inspiring message ever heard.

Regarding the Bible, I had previously asked myself, "why would anyone want to read this seemingly complicated compilation of chapters and verses?" As I considered writing this book I decided to relate my journey of discovery warts and all. I hope that by re-counting some of my journey in discovering the message of the Bible you may become curious enough to look into the scriptures for yourself; if you haven't already. In fact you will find within the pages of the Bible the most important and exciting revelation that you will ever hear.

Telling people to get their Bible down from the top shelf, blow the dust off and read it, doesn't help much unless they have some basic understanding of the history, prophecy and context within the Bible. So I hope this quick journey will help you discover what God is revealing to the world. Through my journey of discovery, I studied other books, the Quran, the book of Mormon and other "religious" books, but only the Holy Bible containing what we call the Old and New Testaments can be confirmed as trustworthy. The Bible is supported by archeology, history and fulfilled prophecy.

The question why we are here, cannot be answered by science. Science cannot tell us why we are here.

I love science, and I have discovered that science and the Bible are not at odds with each other, in fact science supports many assertions found in the scriptures. Since childhood I have been interested in scientific discovery and I am amused at some of the theories that have been suggested. Please come on a short journey through my life story and how I discovered the wonderful joy and encouragement revealed in the Bible. Maybe you will relate to some of my life experiences, maybe not, we all have our own journey but we all have a common destiny, and that's my reason for writing this book.

I truly hope that you give this book a chance; because my aim is to unwrap that all important message found in the most popular and yet most misunderstood book in the world.
