R M Hughes
Robert Meirion Hughes has been writing fiction since the 1980s. He is a former Plaid Cymru/Party of Wales County Cllr., who held public office in Conwy County, North Wales, for 17 years until his retirement in 2017. He has published fiction under the pen-name "Mike Bloom" but now writes in his own name.
Following a personal experience in the 1980s, he remains a firm believer that some UFOs are intelligently guided by extraterrestrial intelligence. This is reflected in some of his books, including his most recent, The Last Village.
He is currently revising some of his previous books and intends to republish in due course.
He is familiarly known to his friends and family as Meirion, an ancient Welsh name, the closest translation of which in English is "Steward". Although a Welsh (Cymraeg) speaker, he writes exclusively in English.
Meirion lives on the North Wales coast with his wife, Wendy.
