David Jakob was born in Switzerland in 1947 and has lived a life of unusual variety — moving more than sixty times across Switzerland, England, and Italy. His path has taken him from working as an electrician and cook to roles in strategic technology projects, web design, and teaching. Along the way, he earned degrees in Philosophy, Psychology, Marketing, and Information Science. In the 1970s, David encountered the teachings of Prem Rawat, whose reminder to "Know yourself " became a lifelong compass. For nearly fifty years he has practised the techniques of Knowledge daily, grounding his life in the simple experience of presence. Now retired, he devotes his time to writing, reflection, and volunteer work in his local community in Switzerland. His focus remains what it has always been: becoming a better human being, sharing kindness, and encouraging others to discover the peace already within themselves.
