As the Druid's apprentice, Brigit has one purpose in life, to save her world. She must bring back the sun or everyone she holds dear, will die.
A lot of pressure for an orphaned 16 year old whose only wish is to connect with her estranged father and solve the mystery of her mother's death.

Unfortunately, the one person responsible for her training cannot help—right when Brigit needs him most. She must go it alone.
The lack of sun takes a toll on the crops. Without enough food, people become ill and bad things happen.
Disappointed in herself, Brigit makes a perilous journey across the island hoping to meet the one man who can answer all her questions.

She does not look back.

However, her father does not welcome her warmly.

Still, she is determined to win his love.

She meets the sly war hardened Mebd, a woman who has loathed Brigit since the day she was born. Mebd will do whatever it takes to keep her lies hidden.

The girl has guts though. She will uncover the truth.

Will that reality destroy the only family she's ever known?
