History and genealogy have been lifelong interests. I started pestering busy adults with questions about my family history when I was twelve years old. Over the years, I've dug through family papers and photos, squinted at faded microfilm, traveled to distant places in hopes of a few crumbling documents, and spent countless hours in cemeteries searching for stones; bugs, brambles, and all. I was an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and a weekend gamer for years, getting together with friends to re-enact history, create characters, work through adventures, and enjoy our collective imagination.

After 23 years as a Registered Nurse, I'm now writing full-time. Through my books, I write about things that interest me with the goals of writing stories that are entertaining as well as bringing the past to life and speaking for those who no longer can.
