Kelechi Okorie kept mute for a while as his grandchildren called out to him to inquire what the problem was. He smiled, shook his head and said nothing. The children were dumb founded and just stared at one another. "Children," he suddenly spoke out. "I am the young man that brought the slab home and your grandmother is Onyili, the young girl in the story."

The children screamed out of excitement before hugging him.

"What happened to Ibezim?" asked Ike his 16 years of grandson.

"Well", replied their grandfather, "Ibezim did not recover from the wrestling match he had with the spirit; he died two market days later. At the market place, you will see the sculpture of three people. A dwarf and two other men, those are the sculptures of Ibezim the wrestler, Item the dwarf and Izu the warrior. That, my children, are the men who gave their lives for me, your grandmother and the entire people of this clan. That is the story of The Slab." The children held their grandfather and smiled with admiration before running off to meet their grandmother to confirm if truly she was the great Onyili.
