In the spirit of adventures such as Indiana Jones, Cornell DeVille's Cannibal Island delivers a fun and exciting ride as it follows Richie Armstrong on a globe-trotting treasure hunt to find an ancient Incan treasure—containing a time-travel device known as the Golden Disk—and guarded by an ancient tribe of cannibals.

When Richie meets a man with a treasure map to an island off the coast of Peru, he remembers his father's dying words: "The disk is near Lima," and Richie wastes no time in setting up the trip.

They journey by steamship, dogged the entire way by Richie's arch nemesis, Hans Von Hisle, who is also aware of the treasure and uses underhanded means to work toward getting there first.

The adventure is set in a nostalgic time when steamships and dirigibles were still new enough to be considered modern, and the narrative conveys a tone that compliments that era.
