Rafael Menton brings us four tales of the erotic, the dominant, and the occult.

"A Past Submission", gives us the tale of a financially secure London bachelor in his forties, enjoying his carefree life to the full, who is suddenly transported to a strange bookshop to be confronted by a large and even more strange Latina woman. A large and feline woman he swears he has not seen until now but who also looks alarmingly familiar and triggers within him certain discomfiting and terrifying flashbacks. Flashbacks that include the sensuous and equally feline daughter who seems to alarm him even more than her mother… A feline daughter who is about to reclaim what was once hers and destroy his carefree life forever!

Next we have "Bad Move", and the story of a good cop with sexual demons who is about to go bad… And come face to face with a woman who has been in that condition for a long time… A wealthy Arab woman with secrets of the most repellent kind he is about to try and blackmail. Only to find he will be the one who finds himself at her mercy and that of her two female assistants… And in a far more permanent way.

Following this, Mr Menton brings us his title story with "An Abject Fixation", in which he asks the question: "Can the scent of a woman overpower a man with such force he will be unable to refuse her any demand?" For, according to the late-aunty of a young expat Indian woman named Hemani Jayashankar, this is certainly the case. If that young woman, like Hemani, is blessed with a certain family gift handed down over the centuries… A gift that is about to fixate and
enslave the happily married Englishman who just happens to be her boss.

Finally, we have "The Manservant" in which, wrongly accused and imprisoned, divorced from his wife and estranged from his daughters, a former teacher struggles with depression. A condition becoming worse after his release and the knowledge kicks in that he is not only friendless and jobless but about to made homeless by his local council in London. Which is when he sees an ad seeking a man for a live-in position in affluent Blackheath. An ad run by an African couple who are looking for a man JUST like him. And on a long-term basis. To become their… CHATTEL.

3-stories of occult human bondage, mind control, and sexual depravity of the feminine kind.

If you enjoy stories which, without being unnecessarily explicit, trigger those more stygian and erotic areas of the imagination while invoking the spirit of assertive women, and are as believable as they are dark, it's more than probable you'll delight in Mr Menton's stories from a female-led perspective on the subject of crime, horror, the occult and the erotic, domestic and sexual, bondage of man to woman.

Rafael Menton is a UK-based Professor of English Literature with a retro passion for the early to mid-twentieth-century fiction of mystery, crime, suspense, and horror & romance with erotic female-led undertones. Mr Menton's literary tastes range from Doyle and Blackwood and on to Rohmer – as well as sometimes indulging in a more contemporary take of his own on the work of those masters that enables the reader to bring his/her own imagination to the story being read.
