Three men go fishing, leaving their wives and children behind. When the
men don't return, two of their wives are understandably distraught. One
wife, well, not so much.
Kathy McNamara, a successful attorney, never thought she'd ever get
married. Not after her heart was shattered by her high school boyfriend,
Conor Clancy. But when Kathy meets Jack McNamara at her twentieth high
school reunion and they marry after a whirlwind courtship, Kathy finally has
the happily ever after she'd always dreamed of. Her heart, finally healed.
And sure, Jack's not perfect. And yes, Conor Clancy is still his best friend
who Kathy now has to see all the time. But Kathy's life, if not perfect, is still
pretty damn good. Well, aside from pesky Conor and his insipid twenty
something wife Trisha.
So things are good. Not good, they're great, which is why Kathy is completely
unprepared for her life to fall apart when Jack and Conor and their other
high school friend Sean don't return from their fishing trip. And Kathy is
certainly not prepared when heavily pregnant Trisha seems very
unbothered by it all.
