Connie Kent is a survivor of child sexual abuse, sexual assault and intimate partner abuse. She is passionate about helping other women heal from abuse, and she shares her experience openly in a detailed and vulnerable manner in hopes that others can learn from her pain and trauma.
Her favorite book is The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk. Reading van der Kolk's work changed her life and she credits him for her ability to understand how her trauma affected her physically, mentally, and spiritually. This understanding has contributed to her desire to share her knowledge with others so that survivors may heal the way she has. Ms. Kent believes healing is a constant work in progress and reading of other's experiences helps keep her on that path.
Ms. Kent lives in Indiana with her beloved husband, 4 children, 2 dogs and one turtle. She enjoys volunteering for Voices for Children as a court-appointed special advocate, watching her children play in the many sports they participate in, and traveling when time allows.
