Understanding and purchasing US treasuries can be challenging. There is lots of information on what they are, but not why you should buy them.

There are many types of Treasuries, but I want to focus on the three that resemble traditional bonds.

Treasury Bills have short durations of less than one year.

Treasury Notes have durations between 2 and 10 years.

Treasury Bonds have durations between 20 and 30 years.

Each type has a unique reason why you should invest your hard-earned dollar. Ultimately, it comes down to your goals and how you manage your money.

Every household needs an emergency fund, a savings plan, and an investment portfolio; you can use different treasuries to reach your goals. Good Luck!
