Screenside's assault on Never Death ends in the calamity of a nuclear attack!

The appalled virtuals are left with many things to manage, not least of all the trauma of virtual Australian children who have lost their entire human families, and whose Humanside city has been obliterated.

And they also have to ensure that the human desire for retribution upon the known perpetrators, does not lead to apocalyptic nuclear exchanges.

And then there is the guilt to handle…

From that point on, in a period of living as independent physical humans, the virtuals have to face their greatest dread, when they begin designing and manufacturing robotic bodies, to function in a future world that would be unable to provide humans to possess for the conduct of physical tasks.
