Selene believes in two true things: love and the power of stories. Everything else is up for debate.

Selene has spent her time on Earth creating her ideal writer's life. It hasn't been easy since real life often got in the way, slowing down her progress, (many years at university, a bad marriage, a couple of English degrees, two decades teaching teenagers literature, a good marriage, a few years as a tech writer, several house moves) but dogged perseverance and not a few risks eventually got this once land-locked kid to the edge of the Pacific ocean. She's happily married to a romantic guy (he's Scottish "my love is a red, red rose" born and bred), and they live in a Southern California beach town where the sea and sand are mere minutes away.
