Seeda, the daughter of Queen Elmara, has always longed for freedom from their despotic mother. When they learn of their mother's plans to use their magic for evil, they flee to the Dark Forest.

The Dark Forest is the only refuge for people like them, and Seeda finds a home and a family there, away from the stifling ways of their mother.

But Queen Elmara has a long arm, and she would stop at nothing to get Seeda back. Will Seeda be able to fight against their mother to protect everyone they care about, or will they be forced to destroy the one home they have found?
