The airlock cycled open with a hiss, revealing nothing but darkness beyond. Her pulse thundered as she raised her weapon, stepping forward and brushing her short brunette hair out of her eyes.

Then she saw it.

A figure, impossibly tall, framed in the dim corridor beyond. It moved with unnatural grace, its form sleek and elongated, the air around it shimmering like heat off metal. Its skin—or whatever passed for it—was dark, almost liquid in texture, catching the sparse light like polished obsidian.

Regan's breath caught in her throat.

It wasn't human. It was… Oddly beautiful, in a way that sent a thrill of fear down her spine. Whatever this thing was that had torn through her crew had been merciless and efficient. If this thing wanted her dead, she already would be.

Regan's fingers tensed on the grip of her pistol and lifted it, pointing it at the creature at the end of the hall.

Suddenly, with a primal catlike pounce, the alien creature lunged at her.

Regan barely had time to gasp before it was on her, slamming her back against the cold metal wall of the corridor. Her pistol was wrenched from her grip, clattering uselessly to the floor. It was so strong, so fast, she didn't stand a chance.

Its massive frame caged her in, pinning her to the wall as she struggled.

Its head lowered. Its breath—if it even needed to breathe in the endless expanse of space—was warm against her throat. It bared it's teeth, rows of white fangs dripping with saliva and Regan cried out in horror at it tore at her white tank top, revealing her tight stomach and cleavage with the teethmarks it left behind.

It could so easily tear her apart if it wanted to.
